So far this academic year, TC NEXT has completed over 850 coaching appointments to support students and alumni with document reviews, mock interviews, career exploration and more.

Meet Bayla Henry (M.S. Student, Communication Science & Disorders)
Graduate Student Assistant for Employment Partnerships, TC NEXT
How She Makes an Impact: Bayla is dedicated to assisting children with hearing loss in developing their spoken language skills, enabling them to communicate effectively with others.
How TC NEXT Helped: As a Graduate Student Assistant at TC NEXT, Bayla has honed her professional leadership skills, which she hopes will enhance her capabilities as a clinician after graduation.
What’s Next: Upon graduating, Bayla is excited to continue learning how she can become a better speech-language pathologist to help children communicate effectively.

Meet Kayla Nappi (M.A. Student, Bilingual/Bicultural Education)
5th Grade Spanish-English Dual Language Teacher, NYC DOE
How She Makes an Impact: Kayla is currently teaching elementary students, both in general education and bilingual settings. She is deeply passionate about educational equity, including building multilingual skills and how to make education equitable through language skills. She’s a firm believer in delivering unique instruction that increases student morale and self-esteem.
How TC NEXT Helped: Through working with TC NEXT, Kayla has acquired professional interview and negotiation skills. She has benefited greatly from TC NEXT's personalized coaching appointments, where she’s cultivated the skills that she needed the most.
What’s Next: After receiving her masters degree, Kayla plans to teach in elementary bilingual education, expanding upon her professional knowledge. She hopes to obtain more education certificates and work at the macro-level of the educational sector.

Meet Tanya Yajnik (Ed.M. Candidate, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling & Clinical Psychology)
Mental Health Counseling Intern, Only-Connect Psychological Services PLLC
How She Makes an Impact: Tanya is passionate about providing mental health counseling to highly sensitive individuals and neurodivergent women with histories of complex trauma. She uses an integrative clinical skill set that incorporates therapeutic music, meditation and mind-body practices.
How TC NEXT Helped: With the support of TC NEXT, Tanya has benefited from supportive and collaborative mentorship, including coaching sessions to enhance her resume and interview skills.
What’s Next: Tanya looks forward to being actively engaged in her mental health fieldwork next year and in particular, learning more about and applying dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), narrative therapy and feminist therapy.
